(GREEN BAY) - A 21-yard field goal by John Aveni in the last 33 seconds gave the Chicago Bears, who scored all of their points in the fourth quarter, a 17-14 win over the Green Bay Packers. Aveni got his kicking shot when Earl Legget intercepted a batted pass by Bart Starr. The burly lineman carried the ball back to the Green Bay 32 and Willie Galimore, in two thrusts, moved it to the 12. Rick Casares added another four yards before Aveni booted, the score that gave Chicago its' eighth straight win in league play. The other seven victories came at the end of the 1959 season when the Bears finished behind the Colts. The results also snapped a four-game winning streak for the Packers, who had also won all six exhibition games.
