Green Bay Packers (2-1) 31, Dallas Cowboys 10
PRE-SEASON - Saturday August 17th 1963 (at Dallas)
(DALLAS) - As far as Dallas football fans are concerned, the Packers haven't changed unless it's for the better. The same old tough defense, the hard running, the strong passing, and the opportunism of the two-time champions greeted a crowd of 53,121 Saturday night in the Cotton Bowl. The Packers beat the Cowboys for the third straight year in an exhibition. The score was 31-10, not as wide a margin as the previous two years but more impressive in view of the fact that Dallas obviously has a better team and had really expected to give the Packers a good ball game. Several questions were answered. Jim Taylor had been favoring an injured knee. He said the knee hurt a little in the game with the Cowboys but it couldn't be detected the way the big guy ran with the ball. He carried 12 times for 86 yards, an average of 7.2. There was no evidence that Paul Hornung was being missed. His replacement, Tom Moore, ran 11 times for 70 yards and once got off an option pass for 17 yards to show he could do everything Hornung could do.
