(GREEN BAY) - Throw a lion and a tiger into the same arena and there's sure to be action. It's the same when the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants square off, whether in an exhibition or National Football League title showdown. The Packers came out on the short end of a wild second period, but then settled down and pulled out a victory over the Giants Monday night in a rugged duel before a packed crowd of 42,327 at City Stadium. The largest turnout in Green Bay history expected a repeat performance of the Packers' triumph over the Giants in the NFL championship game. The hometown fans weren't disappointed as both teams acted as if they were playing for $5,000 per man instead of the pre-season rate of $50 a game. A 100-yard return of a kickoff by the Packers' Herb Adderley and a 91- yard maneuver on which Jim Patton intercepted a pass and lateraled to Dick Lynch for a New York touchdown featured the fantastic second period.
