Cincinnati Bengals 20, Green Bay Packers (1-1) 5
PRE-SEASON - Saturday August 11th 1979 (at Cincinnati)
(CINCINNATI) - Archie Griffin scored two first-half touchdowns and Chris Bahr kicked two field goals to lift the Cincinnati Bengals over the punchless Packers. Griffin, the nation's only two-time Heisman trophy winner while at Ohio State, scored on a 2-yard run in the opening quarter and on an 18- yard pass from Ken Anderson in the second period. Bahr added field goals of 25 and 40 yards to complete the Cincinnati scoring. Green Bay, which managed only three first downs in the first half, got its only scoring on a 46-yard field goal by Chester Marcol late in the third quarter and on a safety in the final period. The safety came when a snap by Cincinnati rookie center Max Montoya sailed over the head of punter Pat Mclnally and out of the end zone.
