AIFA BOWL IV
SUNDAY JULY 25
BALTIMORE (15-0) 57, Wyoming (14-1) 42 (6075) - Playing in their first AIFA title game, the Baltimore Mariners made every attempt to link their newfound success to the city's storied football past, even bringing in Colts Hall of Famer Lenny Moore to serve as honorary captain. QB E.J. Nemeth fired three second-half TD passes, including a pair to Aaron Yarbough, as the Mariners rallied from an early 16-point deficit for a 57-42 win over the Wyoming Cavalry to complete the first perfect season in the brief history of the AIFA. To get there, the Mariners first had to overcome five TD passes from Wyoming QB Matt Strand (16-for-31, 257 yards), as well as a particularly ominous start, in which they fell behind 16-0 in the first 6:09. The third-year team did just that, scoring 32 of the game's next 40 points. Wyoming  suffered its fourth straight title game loss, including the past three in the AIFA.

COLUMBUS (9-3) 68, Louisiana (6-6) 13 (2346) - Behind four turnovers and 274 yards of total offense, the Columbus Lions set claim to their first championship over the defending champion Louisiana Swashbucklers.  Once again rising to the challenge was the number one ranked Columbus defense which forced four Louisiana turnovers while recording six sacks.   The Bucs were held to just 98 yards of total offense and were smothered all night by the star-studded Lions defense as SIFL Defensive MVP Damian “Nighthawk” Daniels soared in two interceptions while All-SIFL First-Teamer Franklin Lloyd had 2.5 sacks.
